“The Under 13’s have got off to a flyer this season, with two wins out of two, against Hinton and Brackley. Combined with two walkovers against Towcestrians and Wicken, we are therefore top of the table at the halfway stage of the League phase of the season – what a difference a year makes! Last season the team was young and inexperienced, whereas now they are still young (only four or five of them will be too old next year) but they are hardened veterans – the team spirit and banter on the pitch are excellent. Mikey Peyton-Bruhl is emerging as a sensible, hard-working captain ably supported by key players such as Jack Henn, Harry Williams and Jamie Russell, though it is hard to pick out individuals since the whole squad operates as a unit. It has been the wickets and runs of these four which have sealed the two victories so far this season, although others will undoubtedly come to the fore in future games. The next game is away to Preston Capes, so watch this space…”
